The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). The psychology unit provides individual and group therapy and crisis intervention for the sentenced inmate population as well as emergency coverage for those awaiting trial. Inmate treatment case files are created to provide psychological services to inmates.
